Kelly and Derrick's Wedding!

Friday, December 17th was the date of the wedding rehearsal. That was also the last day of school for the holiday break. So after we finished school we drove to Delhi to see the beautiful theatre where Kelly and Derrick would be getting married the very next day. We finished setting up where the reception would be taking place and then we did a run-through of the wedding ceremony. Afterwards, we had pizza, salad, wings and pop and then we drove home to get ready for the next day. I had a hair appointment with gramma at Linda's for 8am, while Kelly had a hair appointment at 6am. Then Kelly and her bridal party got their makeup and hair done and drove to Delhi once again. While this was happening mom and I had dropped off gramma and were picking up last minute things and breakfast (an 8 pack of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups!) We drove back home, ate lunch and got dressed for the wedding. We picked up gramma and drove to Delhi, but with time to spare we checked in at the hotel everybody was staying at, The Best Western, in Simcoe. Once we got to the theatre it was a rush to get everybody ready. The wedding ceremony went very well and was beautiful. Afterwards, pictures of the wedding party were taken, and we were welcomed back to the theatre for 5pm for the dinner and reception to follow. The dinner was delicious and the reception was so much fun. We were dancing to dances from Just Dance for the wii, and we left video messages. The next day we ate breakfast at the hotel and we went back to clean up. I vacummed for about an hour trying to get the sparkles out of the carpet from the tree ornaments.....They are still there! We drove home after that and relaxed...aahh. The weekend was a blast and then there were gifts and guestbook cards to follow! Congratulations on your marriage!

Christmas is Coming!

I know we are already 8 days into December, but I wasn't really feeling the Christmas spirit until later on today. My friend Maddie is a Christmas fanatic, although I am too, and so the first snowfall was a BIG deal! Today however, it was snowing a lot and it was cold. We don't have enough snow to cover the ground, but we are getting there! I went on http://www.northpole.com/ and I sent a letter to santa, whom I will recieve a reply from in about 3 days, and I took a test to see if I am on the naughty or nice list (nice, just in case any of you were wondering). I also talked to Bonnie and Bif the elves on elfchat! There are animated, moving post cards too, that I sent myself a couple of weeks ago. Even though it is only the beginning of December, there are actually only 17 days until Christmas, and only 7 school days left until the holiday break! I guess I should start my Christmas shopping! Bailey and I have each made a gingerbread house and we both have Christmas calendars that we open everyday. I am very excited for Christmas, and I hope we have a white Christmas not a green one like last year!

AHS Winter Talent Show

Today at lunch I went to room 10 to audition for my school's winter concert talent show. I sang Jesus, Take The Wheel by Carrie Underwood and I got in! There will be a buyout for the concert near the beginning of December, and there will be a performance after schoool closer to the middle of the month. Some other acts include comedy, singers, dancers, guitar players, and a guy that can say anything backwards! The show sounds like a lot of fun!

Fight Against Discrimination!

Today I went to school having no idea what that I would be participating in.....a silence streak. It all started in math class at second period, when my friend Taylor wrote a note on his Ipod to my math teacher explaining that he would not be talking because he was on a silence streak against discrimination. I would have joined in too, but I had talent show auditions at lunch and I would have to sing. However, the auditions were cancelled and rescheduled to Thursday, so I walked to the main foyer and I stuck a piece of bright pink duct tape across my mouth, determined to stay silent from that point on. Not everybody was participating for this cause but the majority of the school was. Near the end of lunch the streak ended, although anyone who wanted, could continue to show their support. My plan was to continue...but my french teacher had us answer her questions and do the french activities because the streak was actually over. Other than this I did kept my mouth shut. In science (P.4), people were still wearing the duct tape over their mouths, while for some people their teachers had made them take it off and it had lost its "stickiness". Once the bell ring I still kept mine on, but I think only one guy and I were actually continuing on with the streak. Once I got home I took the tape off....but am still being silent. It is 5pm and I plan to stay silent until tomorrow morning. I have never realized how much of a chellenge it is and how greatly we use our voices. I am happy and proud to be supporting a good cause.

Countdown!

25 days until Kelly and Derrick's wedding.......32 days until Christmas.......and 18 days left of school until the holiday break!!

It's Started!

Last night for the first time I heard Christmas music on a commercial on TV, and today I noticed decorations on the street lights in Ancaster. The Christmas season has started! I'm already starting to get into the holiday spirit, and I'm sure Kelly already is too. Only a month from tomorrow will be Kelly and Derrick's wedding and 6 days after that will be Christmas! The malls and stores are already packed with people trying to get a head start on their shopping, and there's Christmas music filling the stores. I am very excited for this holiday season.

31 days until Kelly and Derrick's wedding, a month from tomorrow!

Diabetes Awareness

Yesterday, November 12th, all of the elementary schools both public and private in Ancaster, came to Ancaster High wearing blue ponchos to raise awareness for diabetes. We were trying to break the world record for the macarana. We needed to beat 1,836, I think it was and we had at least a couple thousand. So we stood in a big circle and danced to the macarana for 5 mins. straight. It was a lot of fun, and I think we broke the world record. However most importantly, it was for a good cause.

VMT's Hairspray.....the cast show!

The auditions for this year's musical Hairspray took place on Saturday the 30th from 10am-1pm and a couple of hours later I got a phone call telling me who I was cast as in the show. I auditioned for Tracy and Penny and I got the part of Prudy (which is Penny's mom). Also, my friend Bronte is Penny! I am very excited for the show in March/April and tonight is the first read-through of the script.

Halloween Costume!

I have finally decided what I am dressing up as for Halloween!...........................CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS!!!! I will wear a t-shirt that says captain underpants on it, with jeans with underwear over top, and a cape! I really like this costume idea, I don't think many people are being captain underpants. However, my mom is being an egg with devil horns...a devilled egg, and my brother is thinking of being a zombie and then I was going to do his horror makeup (bulletholes, bruises, cuts etc.) I am pretty excited for Halloween!

VMT'S Hairspray!

This past Monday at my Village Musical Theatre (VMT) rehearsal we were all given our scripts for our upcoming show this year.....Hairspray! We were also given our audition packages which means that the auditions are being held on Saturday, October 30th. I will be auditioning for 2 people: Tracy....and whoever else I decide before the end of this weekend. The show dates for our final production will be a month early this year meaning they are at the end of March (don't know the exact dates yet), and we will be putting on 7 shows! I am excited for the auditions and I will keep you posted on what happens. Wish me good luck.....uh I mean break a leg!

Thanksgiving!

Finally, Thanksgiving weekend came around and we got to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal on the Sunday. We had turkey with cranberries and gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, peas, corn, bread and of course pie! However, we didn't have a typical Thanksgiving weekend. We somehow managed to fit a whole weeks worth of activities into 2 days! My cousins and their fiancees, and my mom's cousin and her husband came down and the house was packed with one big happy family! Tara and Kelly came home on Thursday and Kelly's wedding shower was on Friday night. Then Derrick got home Saturday morning, and Stacy at noon. We went to the hall to set up for the Stag and Doe that was later that night and then we came home to relax for a bit. I slept over at Marissa and Leigha's that night because we were too young to go the Stag and Doe. We played wii and we had a lot of fun! Then I got picked up Sunday morning and a few hours later Tara and Stacy left to go to Stacy's mom and dad's for Thanksgiving. Not long after they left, Marissa and Leigha came over to have Thanksgiving with us. Then Bailey and I left to visit at our gramma and grampas. We came back and Derrick and Kelly had to leave on their long drive back home to New Brunswick. This weekend was very busy but it was also a lot of fun! There was always something to do and always somebody to follow around. I'm happy everyone came home, especially because some of them I hadn't seen in over 4 months! Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

October!

Yay! It's finally October! This month it's Thanksgiving and Halloween and it's Fall! The leaves are already starting to change color and fall off of the trees, and there's that nice fall breeze that I love! We started carving pumpkins and roasting pumpkin seeds last weekend, and I can wear hoodies every day! I look forward to this season every year, it isn't too cold or hot, the scenery when you're driving is beautiful and I know i'll be going on lots of hikes this year!

The Ancaster Fair!

This Thursday-Sunday is the 160th Ancatser Fair! I am performing in "Ancaster Fair's Got Talent" on Thursday, the 23rd. I am singing Taking Chances by Celine Dion, and on Sunday, the 26th, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of each competition perform at 4pm. My friend Jaclyn Kenyon is also performing, but as a guest not a contestant, so she will be found performing on the Saturday!

Ancaster High's Grade 9 Weekend!

This past Friday September 17th, was Ancaster High's grade 9 weekend! All grade 9's on this day showed up at school ready to start class at 8:25 and ran through a regular school day, but as the bell rang at 2:45pm instead of heading home, most grade 9's (including me) made their way down to the gym to kick-off 2010's grade 9 weekend! We got our water bottles and our t-shirts and then we were placed into our groups. This years theme was Facebook, so every group was a different game. My group was "the crazy taxis!" We created signs, painted our leaders and our classroom, performed our cheers, and then we went onto the back field to play the outdoor games. Thebouncy castle and the bouncy obstacle course were my two favourite games. Then we had dinner and listened to a few live bands play. After dinner we went up to our rooms and we had a scavenger hunt in the east wing of the school. We had a 3 hour dance following that, and then we were sent to the gym's to hang out for 7 hours...and possibly sleep. My goal was to stay up all night...but as my eyes slowly closed I only stayed up until about 3:40am. Then I woke up around 7am, completely unaware of what was happening, and we packed up and had breakfast. I headed home and fell asleep! Not a surprise. The grade 9 weekend was a lot of fun, and I hope to be a leader in grade 12, for 2013's grade 9 weekend.

Highschool

On Tuesday, September 7th, 2010 I woke up and set off for my first day of highschool! I go to Ancaster High (where Tara and Kelly also went) and i'm having a great time. It was nerve-wracking and a biy scary but that quickly went away once I walked into their auditorium and noticed that I had nothing to worry about. All of my classes are on the second floor and pretty much across from each other so it's great! I've made some new friends and i'm looking forward to the rest of my year. I hope everybody else's school is going well.

I'm Back

I remembered that I haven't posted anything new on my blog lately, and when I checked the last post I realized that it turned out to be put up around Christmas! So I will now start posting on my blog again, because I miss it!
